Bookbinding
From folding, cutting, and sewing the paper, hand cutting all three sides, creating custom book covers, attaching them to the text block, hand binding the book in leather, bookcloth, or paper, sewing custom endbands, to adding endpapers. Some will be finished by creating a cover design either blind-tooled (impressions only) or gilded with 24K gold using brass hand tools.

Each step is manual and done by using traditional bookbinding hand tools and techniques helping to keep bookbinding knowledge and craftsmanship, once prevalent but now almost forgotten in our modern and fast-paced world, alive.

Any item you purchase is one of a kind. There are no two items in our shop that are exactly the same. Even if the yarn, leather, bookcloth, or paper fabric is from the same hide or dye lot, the handmade nature of these materials might cause minor differences but will always make each item beautifully different.
